Our Rosa is a very outspoken dog during her daily struts around the neighborhood, yet on the inside she continues to carry a sense of nervousness especially around unfamiliar dogs. During an outing at a local park when she was still a young pup, Rosa was attacked by an off leash dog which affects her deeply to this day. We decided to enroll her in the Obedience Training class with hopes of nurturing her confidence back and broadening her stride. At the TK Canine Training Centre, she was under the care of Don, a highly experienced trainer who understood her every emotion and behavioral cue. Don's methods were very effective and applied with such attention and understanding, Rosa was able to learn basic commands almost immediately. We knew we would face a lot of challenges in training our puppy when we decided to have a Shiba Inu. It is not the easiest breed to train after all. After Toshi had all his necessary shots at four and a half months old, we brought him to Don and we never look back. Don is a remarkable trainer. He customizes his training to our concerns and specific to Toshi's behaviour . Right from the get-go, Toshi already complied with Don's instructions at the first class. Throughout the basic obedience training class, we learned basic commands so that we're able to interact with Toshi in positive ways. Within a very short time, he no longer displayed undesirable behaviours such as chewing the furniture or going upstairs (we decided it is off-limit to him). Besides the obedience training, Toshi has been going to the social class. He has come a long way in terms of interacting properly with other dogs of different breeds and age. Toshi is at the intermediate obedience training class now. He looks forward to every class and so do we. Don is not just a great trainer, he also provides great resources when it comes to grooming and taking care of Toshi. Going to T.K. Canine Training Centre is one of our best decisions we've ever made for Toshi. When I had my first dog, which was a Doberman Pinscher, I brought it to TK Canine Training Centre. It had a lot of behaviour and aggression issues. Don was able to develop a training plan tailored to my dog's behaviour. He taught me how to develop my leadership skills. In turn, I developed a better relationship with my dog. For the next 14 years, my dog was not only my best companion but it was my family member. After my first dog passed away, my family and I brought our second Doberman Pinscher, Jayden. Immediately, I knew this dog was going to be very different from my first dog. When Jayden was 8 weeks old, I brought Jayden to Don to start it's training. Unlike other trainers who uses the same training plan for every dog breed, Don develops a training plan tailored to Jayden's behaviour and dog breed. The method Don taught me to train Jayden was very different compared to how I trained my first dog. During Don's training courses, I was able to build an everlasting relationship with Jayden and strengthen my leadership skills. Now, Jayden is friendly, happy, but more importantly, a well balance dog. Don made me understand that although Doberman is bred to be a protective guard dog, the breed of the dog does not dominate it's behaviour. Don's training classes are fun and interactive. Fortunately, we have Don! With his teachings and all of kind of informative advises, we gradually \"transformed\" Bobby into one of those \"ROLE Model\" type dog. Don has been training Chowder \u2013 and me \u2013 for almost three years now. Before Don, Chowder did not listen well and always pulled on the leash during walks. He had way too much energy! I registered my chocolate lab, Luna, when she was 10.5 months old for basic obedience classes with Don. While I initially believed that training lessons were unecessary as a first time dog owner, I realized that Luna was becoming unmanageable during walks and she was misbehaving quite often both at home and when I took her out.<\/p>\n
Thanks to Don's basic obedience classes and socialization classes, I learned how to properly train Luna. Most importantly, I learned how to walk Luna using a prong collar which helped her to socialize better with other humans and dogs during our walks, while also decreasing her amount of pulling on the leash.<\/p>\n
Don's training lessons have really improved Luna's behavior overall. From a young puppy who would used to lunge, bark, and growl during walks, I can now enjoy long walks with her without having to worry about her being disruptive with both other dogs and humans, and she has learned to heel properly during walks as she is able to walk along side me the majority of the time. Her socialization skills and behavior have improved immensely and I would highly recommend Don as a dog trainer. Thank you Don for all of your work!<\/p>\n

We bought LokLok when he is 7 weeks; he was a very cute, lovely, and sweet baby in that moment. However, we found out that he became aggressive and dominant while he was growing up. We used to take him to the training course in other pet centre, but it was not useful. Not even that, his bad behaviours became worse and worse. He was chewing the furniture all the time, dragging and biting the leash while walking in the outside, escaping many times, roughing to other dogs, and even biting us very severely. I was so scared to walk with LokLok because he would bite the leash and me in order to try to escape. Fortunately, LokLok improves a lot since he was trained by Don for 2 months. Now, LokLok doesn\u2019t chew the furniture, drag and bite the leash anymore, he is also friendlier to other dogs and us. So, walking and playing with LokLok is not stressful anymore, it becomes an enjoyable thing for me. Don is not only train LokLok well, he also corrects our miss behaviours, and teaches us how to handle some special situations and train LokLok properly. I met Don @ TK Caine Training Centre 12 years ago when I had my first miniature schnauzer \"Charcoal\". Don has provided me with valuable advice on dog care, grooming and being a responsible owner by ensuring my dog was well trained. Don is patient, resourceful, and knowledgable of various training techniques and methods. His training is individualized to address the needs of both the owner and the dog. Don's training is \"leadership\" based, ensuring that the dog's response to obedience commands are consistent. Behaviours such as barking, housetraining, aggressiveness and fearfulness were effectively addressed and corrected. Charcoal lived a full happy life and volunteered as a Therapy Dog with St. John Ambulance visiting senior care homes for many years. These classes were really helpful so that Ying Ying learns to follow our instructions, and she can play with other dogs in a fun and safe way. Ying Ying will soon begin her first agility class and we can't wait to see her tricks and moves!<\/p>\n

Our pomchi BohBoh joined us just 2 days prior to quarantine, which was unexpected. It was extremely difficult to socialize our pup in the midst of a pandemic. We tried virtual training, which didn't work. Thank god for our friend Wayne's recommendation, we found Don at TK Canine Training Centre. BohBoh started his obedience training at 4.5 months and Don was able to correct ALL of his behavioural issues within 3 lessons (it felt like a miracle). BohBoh stopped barking at everything. He stopped chasing cars. He also stopped with his food aggression. BohBoh is now an extremely playful, but polite puppy which we are so thankful for. If you have ever met Don in person, he gives off the calmest demeanour and you can feel his love for animals. Don was able to train our puppy to respect us without using any treats, but rather with a positive praise method. A lot of people thinking training lessons isn\u2019t necessary for a dog, as a dog owner for more than 20 years, I found out a training lessons is very important to a dog. Kevin and I bought Simba since he was 4 months old from an experience breeder, the breeder mentioned to us this breed of dog need a good obedience class as they are quite bully and aggressive and need proper training to correct him. We found TK Canine Training Center and we have put Simba to all level of obedience classes, Don not only corrected his bad behavior, he also corrected our way of training Simba as well. It\u2019s absolutely an invaluable class and you will never regret sending your dog there. Beside obedience class, socialization class is also an important training to Simba, as he is now so friendly to other dogs and dog owners. We have also sent Simba to Agility class which brings him the Best Agility Champion of 2013.
